Dr. Frederick Bruwer – President and CEO

Dr. Frederick Bruwer founded Azoteq in 1998 with a visionary strategy to develop affordable intelligent switches on silicon. Since 2004 the company has expanded on this successful business to also focus on the emerging market for next generation user interfaces utilizing capacitive proximity and touch sensing solutions. He holds 39 patents in this field.

Previously Dr. Bruwer founded Nanoteq, which developed the Keeloq technology for remote keyless entry (RKE). Keeloq became the world standard for RKE and Nanoteq was sold to Microchip Technology (NASDAQ:MCHP) in 1995 where he was appointed VP for the Secure Data Products division.

Dr. Bruwer holds Bachelors, Masters (Cum Laude) and Doctors degrees from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

Pieter Pretorius – COO

Pieter Pretorius joined Azoteq in 2004 from Nanoteq where he was a Divisional Manager - Security Solutions. During the period 1999 until 2001 Mr. Pretorius played a key role in the establishment of a European presence for Nanoteq’s Security Solutions as the VP for Security Solutions at Comparex Security Solutions in Germany. He is currently the Chief Operations Officer at Azoteq. 

Prior to this Mr. Pretorius was also part of the original Keeloq development team at Nanoteq. In 1995 he became Nanoteq’sManager for Security Services with focus on providing IT Security Solutions into the commercial market.
Mr. Pretorius holds a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree (Cum Laude) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria.

Jean Viljoen - VP of Marketing for Europe and Asia

Jean Viljoen joined Azoteq in 2000 as a DSP Application Engineer.  Mr. Viljoen was one of the key architects who created the ProxSense product line in 2004 and has been involved with the product line ever since.  In 2005 Mr. Viljoen moved into a marketing role and also took on responsibility for the application group at the Paarl Development Centre. Since 2010 Mr. Viljoen has been the Marketing Manager for Europe and Asia where he established a support structure and distribution network for ProxSense.

Mr. Viljoen holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Danie Rademeyer – Manager: Application group

Danie Rademeyer joined Azoteq from One Digital Media where he was the Research and Development Director. He currently manages the applications group at the Paarl Development Centre. 

Previously Mr. Rademeyer worked at Barrows as a design engineer and was responsible for the development and implementation of a low power RF based mesh network for retail applications. He was an integral part of the development of this platform into a new business venture, One Digital Media, and of its growth into one of the biggest retail digital media networks in the world. Before One Digital Media Mr. Rademeyer worked at Telkom, Securicor and Skye Advanced Technologies.

Mr. Rademeyer holds a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pretoria.

Tim Sanghera – Sales Manager, The America's

Tim Sanghera joined Azoteq from Logic1, a manufactures representative, where he was an owner operator for the last 10 years. Logic1 represented the Azoteq portfolio since 2012. Mr. Sanghera is currently in charge of Sales for the America’s and is based at the Azoteq America’s headquarters in Austin, Tx. 

Mr. Sanghera has more than 25 years’ experience in developing corporate strategies, technology roadmaps, and marketing programs at the corporate level of several companies in the industry. Mr. Sanghera served as Vice President of Sales at Mouser and as Vice President of Semiconductor products for Digi-Key Corporation. Mr. Sanghera has also held positions within the distribution sales team of Sharp Electronics, marketing that company’s LCD, opto-, memory and ARM based products.

Mr. Sanghera holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada.
